Release Notes¶
v1.1.7¶
- Transformer ratio for current-transformer metering: meters in semi-indirect installations (e.g. 250A/5A = ratio 50) only display secondary values — the new transformer ratio under "Settings → Advanced" automatically converts currents, power values and energy readings to the actual primary values. Voltage remains unchanged. Applied consistently across live data, history, MQTT, cloud, Modbus and cost calculation
- Feed-in details in the cost view: the daily and monthly cost breakdown now reports import and feed-in separately — including feed-in remuneration and balance per day or month. Particularly useful for PV systems and balcony power plants, available directly on the device even without a cloud account
- Start firmware updates directly: new button in the device web interface under "Settings → Updates"
- Improved crash diagnostics and general stability improvements in the background
v1.1.6¶
- Modbus TCP reliable again: connection issues with Modbus TCP clients fixed
- Extended diagnostics options
- General stability improvements in the background
v1.1.5¶
- Manage tariffs and electricity costs directly on the device: electricity prices with base fee, working price and feed-in tariff can now be configured — current, monthly and yearly costs are calculated and shown both in the app and via the web API
- Support for pure PV feed-in meters: meters that only send the currently fed-in power (OBIS 2.7.0) are now recognised correctly. The instantaneous power is derived with the correct sign (negative = feed-in) — visible in live data, history, MQTT, cloud, Modbus and web API
- Static IP address configurable: devices in networks with unreliable automatic IP allocation (DHCP) can now operate with a fixed IP address — configurable per WiFi profile in the device's web interface under "Settings → WLAN"
- More meter values with plain-text labels: tariffs 5 through 8 for both import and export, per-phase feed-in power (OBIS 22/42/62.7.0), status word and manufacturer identifier are now displayed with readable labels instead of "Unknown" — particularly relevant for Easymeter devices and other multi-tariff meters
- General stability and diagnostics improvements in the background
v1.1.4¶
- Dynamic WiFi transmit power: the device now adjusts its output to match the actual signal strength. Power draw drops noticeably with good reception, while full range is preserved when needed
- General background stability improvements
v1.1.3¶
- Consistent JSON format on the history endpoint of the web API
v1.1.2¶
- New synthetic export counter (OBIS 2.8.0) for single-direction meters with PV / balcony solar setups: if the meter telegram does not include an exported-energy reading, the value is now derived from the live power — visible in live data, history, MQTT, cloud, Modbus and the web API
- More stable daily update check: occasional reboots during the nightly update check on unstable WiFi links are gone
- Consistent JSON format on the system info endpoint of the web API
v1.1.1¶
- Reliable cloud connection in complex WiFi networks (mesh, repeaters): live readings would previously arrive late or not at all on unstable links
- Correct handling of certain meter readings: occasional misinterpretation of individual OBIS values fixed
- More stable behaviour at the WiFi range edge: no more unnecessary reboots on persistently weak signal
v1.1.0¶
- New Modbus TCP server (SunSpec) for integration with Loxone, openHAB and other home automation systems
- Automatic firmware updates: available updates are installed during the nightly update check (toggleable in the settings)
- More robust Wi-Fi password handling: special characters (umlauts, €, …) are stored reliably; input fields warn about whitespace from copy/paste or overlong passwords
- More stable history storage: old daily files are removed consistently after 30 days, with a permanent 200 KB reserve for updates
- Settings page extended with new sections for Modbus and Updates
v1.0.9¶
- New central settings page in the web interface for Wi-Fi, access point, time, MQTT, and cloud connection
- Configurable name and password for the access point; AP state is retained across reboots
- More stable Wi-Fi connection, especially in mesh networks (UniFi, FRITZ!Mesh)
- More robust reception of smart meter telegrams under load
- Smoother reconnect after MQTT or cloud outages with progressively longer back-off intervals
- Improved diagnostics for OTA updates; old historical data files are reliably removed after 30 days
v1.0.8¶
- Fixed sporadic measurement outliers on certain meter types (including Landis+Gyr). Occasional erroneous readings transmitted by the meter are now reliably filtered out.
v1.0.7¶
- Support for meters that only send tariff registers (e.g. 1.8.1) instead of total registers (1.8.0)
- Faster value updates for SML meters by disabling the median filter
- Configurable median filter for OBIS/D0 meters (1–9, default: 5)
- Minimum MQTT send interval clamped to 1 second
v1.0.6¶
- Support for export meters that only report OBIS 15.7.0 (absolute power) instead of 16.7.0 (signed power). Current power is now correctly displayed in the dashboard for these meters.
v1.0.5¶
- Improved SML parser
- Improved stability: fixed reboots on WiFi connection loss and network changes
- Correct daylight saving time switching
- New endpoint for remote diagnostics (MQTT telemetry)
v1.0.4¶
- Fixes an issue where meters with binary identifiers did not show live data on the dashboard and in the app
- Automatically detects locked smart meters and shows a notice in the dashboard and in the app
- Improves device reboot stability on weak power supplies
v1.0.3¶
- Improved stability on unstable WiFi connections (device could restart in rare cases after a connection drop)
- Support for smart meters with many readings (e.g. phase angles, per-phase currents) – the local dashboard now displays all values correctly
v1.0.2¶
- Improved support for special characters in network name and password during WiFi setup via app (e.g. backslash, quotes)
- Correct display of WiFi names with special characters in system info and settings
- WiFi scan via app now correctly shows network names with special characters
v1.0.1¶
- Extended live chart time range: now shows 60 minutes instead of 5 minutes
- Access Point no longer starts unexpectedly after a software reboot
v1.0.0 – Initial Release¶
First stable firmware version for the WattWächter Plus.
